AXIS SYLLABUS INTENSIVE WEEK 2

5-11 DECEMBER 2011

“Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul.” Plato¬“To live is to be musical, starting with the blood dancing in your veins. Everything living has a rhythm.” Michael Jackson¬¬Through the disciplined practice of rhythm, we render our perceptions more acute and our responses to our environment more accurate. Developing the sense of timing allows us to discern and create spaces for the expression of our thoughts and emotions through movement.¬During the week, focus will be oriented towards discovering and managing the inherent rhythm that inertia and momentum exerts on the various masses of our bodies in the gravitational field.¬The objective of the weekend session is to investigate the deep relationship between music and dance in African culture, as well as assist the students in finding ways to re-elaborate this rich tradition in an individual creative process.

By cultivating the five elements in the march, earth, fire, wood, metal, water, a unique music is revealed. Still refining the perception, the change of the step is significant. SATURDAY'S TRIBAL SESSIONS AND SUNDAY MORNING RITUAL

1 OCTOBER - 4 DECEMBER 2011

Tribal Sessions

An invitation to move, dance, trance, the sound of live music in the spirit of a tribe that celebrates life in motion. A unique journey bathed in sound atmospheres, to the rhythms of earth, fire, air and water, accompanied by songs from the heart. An invitation to live the present moment, letting go, the spontaneous dancing and singing, an invitation to pleasure and joy...

The Sunday morning ritual

Every first Sunday of the month, enjoy a morning to honor the body and voice in a very simple ritual during which we will open the doors of the smooth movement and spontaneous singing.

It will not be learning to dance or sing to know the intention is to accompany you to your own spontaneous dance and also give you the opportunity to open letting the pleasure of freely vibrating voice. The spontaneous dancing and singing are accessible to all, just let the body, let go, let "be".

With live music
